240 Tools to Track Fitness
I will be adding a lot more to this. For now, I will just cover the basics. If you do not have a watch that tracks your heart rate and workouts, this is an important thing to start with. There are all different kinds Garmin, Fitbit, Apple Watch etc… I really like the Garmin watches and app. I haven’t used the others so I can’t really comment on that.
For all of them, the watch should be able to track your heart rate and workouts. The data can then be transferred to an app to your phone that will analyze it and help you to track your progress. They are also great to give recommendations on recovery time based on your heart rate and HRV (heart rate variability).
I also like Training Peaks, this is another app that has all kinds of training programs that you can upload. T For example if you want to train for a 10k in 8 weeks, you can go search for a 10 k 8 week training program, upload it in, and ig tells you what you should do each day to train for it. There are some free training programs, but they are very affordable, and much less expensive than a private coach.
You can also link your Garmin account to training peaks to track your progress towards your goals.
I could go on forever, and I will add more later, but you can also track power data from your bike trainer on your watch and track your progressions with that too. I will come back to this and add more later.
