Deep Brain Stimulators
This is also a topic I need to research more before I tackle. Deep brain stimulators are a technology which have been shown to be very effective in managing Parkinson’s disease symptoms. It involves a surgery where two wires are inserted deep into the brain and connected to a device that provides a small electrical stimulation. It is indicated for people diagnosed greater than 4 years ago who have minimal cognitive impairment and are not tolerating medications or still have a tremor on medications.
I will need to learn more about this myself and add more. Please feel free to add to the comments section your experiences with DBS and any information others my find helpful
