Managing Swallowing Difficulty and Aspiration Pneumonia
Swallowing difficulty and getting an aspiration pneumonia is one of the biggest morbidities as we advance with this disease. Again, here I need to research more about the science of all this, but many Parkinson’s centers offer Big and Loud classes and singing classes to help strengthen and make the muscles in our oropharynx work better together.
I don’t really have time to go to those classes, but I figure that singing loudly in the car or when I’m home alone should help with that, and it definitely helps with voice projection.
