Jamie Bryson, Founder of The Parkinson's Fight Club As a movement disorder physician, I cannot say enough positive things about this Parkinson's advocacy website. Its clear that Dr. Whittingham, who identifies as physician and patient, truly cares about others who journey with her. This isn't just another information hub but rather a sanctuary of encouragement, empowerment and real human connection. Her own journey with Parkinsons is shared with honesty, grace and humor rather than just focusing on the challenges alone. The emphasis on exercise as a powerful tool for managing symptoms and improving quality of life is both practical and inspiring. The message is clear: you are not alone and you are stronger than you believe! Whether you are newly diagnosed or a long time fighter, this site will leave you feeling seen, supported and encouraged to keep moving forward!
Rebecca Tat, DOMovement Disorder Specialist, Greensboro NC Parkinsonz.org is the brainchild of Sara Whittingham. Sara was diagnosed with Parkinson's disease (PD) in 2020 at the age of 46. After getting over the initial shock and despair, she fought back against this disease through exercise and advocacy. She is now a frequent speaker on the topic of resilience over PD through exercise. Sara has poured her passion for helping others to thrive in spite of PD into Parkinsonz.org. Here you will find a comprehensive and thorough repository for information, inspiring case studies, resources, and PD community contacts. I also have PD and highly recommend this site as a must for folks living with PD - either those newly diagnosed or others who are well into their journeys.
Joe Drake, Person with Parkinson's Author of: Run With It: A True Story of Parkinson's, Marathons, the Pandemic, and Love This site is an incredibly valuable tool in keeping up with and learning more about Parkinson’s. It was started by Sara Whittingham who is a physician with Parkinson’s. She is able to craft together interesting articles that have a medical and personal perspective on Parkinson’s. My husband is also a retired Navy physician with Parkinson’s and we have found her articles and postings to be incredibly helpful along our journey!!
Meredith TCare Partner, Colorado There is a lot of excellent information included in these files for the newly diagnosed patient or someone who’s been living with Parkinson’s for years. I find myself looking to this resource often for reassurance from others or excellent information from Sara. Thank you so much for creating this valuable resource!
Rhonda Foulds, Diagnosed 1998125 marathon finishes, The toughest human I know I want to personally thank Sara for the amazing work that she’s done. I met Sara through the fight club and have followed her incredible journey. A military flight surgeon, practicing physician, triathlete, mother and all around bad ass. She’s helping to educate people with Parkinson’s to have a better life. She inspires me to fight and not give up. I’ve had Parkinson’s since 2021 (68yo)along with a broken back, knee replacement and hand surgery. Sara, don’t stop what you’re doing. You are a guiding beacon for a lot of of us with Parkinson’s. Thank you,
